Author Q&A with Raven Kennedy
Today we are so excited to have with us today for a Q&A Raven Kennedy, author of The Plated Prisoner series! Welcome to the blog, Raven!
Can you introduce us to the Plated Prisoner series? What is it about?
It’s an adult fantasy slow burn romance inspired by the myth of King Midas, but it’s also about fae, greed, and a woman’s journey of empowerment and self love.
The Reader: This is the first time I read a King Midas retelling and it’s such an intriguing myth!
Who is Auren and what is she like?
Auren is King Midas’s gold-touched favored who leaves her gilded cage and finds herself along the way.
Can you tell us about King Midas?
Midas has the same gleaming dazzle as his myth, but dark secrets lie beneath.
The Reader: I still cannot figure out Midas, he definitely keeps so many dark secrets under lock & key!
What drew you to writing fae stories?
Raven Kennedy: Fae fantasy are some of my favorite stories to read about, and I wanted to write a new take on fae.
The Reader: Love fae stories as well, glad you decided to write your own take!
What inspired you to write a King Midas retelling?
I have been wanting to do something with this myth for a long time, and Auren came to me and I knew she was exactly what I needed.
Favourite book of the series and why?
My favorite book is Gleam because it was the hardest. It was the most ruthless. It took everything from both Auren and I, but we’re better for it.
Tell us a bit about Auren’s ribbons?
Auren’s ribbons are an extension of herself. She always hid them away, but once she started to let them loose, to appreciate that part of herself, it was another step for her to accept who she is.
The Reader: love her ribbons, such a unique concept!
Describe Glint in 5 words!
Seductive lies with simmering romance.
Favourite part of being an author?
Being able to create these worlds in my head and connect with readers.
What can we expect from reading Glint?
Twists and turns, romance angst, and the first step of a woman taking control of herself.
