Sora can move as silently as a ghost and hurl throwing stars with lethal accuracy. Her gemina, Daemon, can win any physical fight blindfolded and with an arm tied behind his back. They are apprentice warriors of the Society of Taigasâmarked by the gods to be trained in magic and the fighting arts to protect the kingdom of Kichona.
As their graduation approaches, Sora and Daemon look forward to proving themselves worthy of belonging to the elite groupâbut in a kingdom free of violence since the Blood Rift Rebellion many years ago, itâs been difficult to make their mark. So when Sora and Daemon encounter a strange camp of mysterious soldiers while on a standard scouting mission, they decide the only thing to do to help their kingdom is to infiltrate the group.Taking this risk will change Soraâs life foreverâand lead her on a mission of deception that may fool everyone sheâs ever loved.
Places to visit in Circle of Shadows!
If you are thinking of visiting the epic Kingdom of Kichona (known for its rare tiger pearls found only in the underwater caves of Kichona), then you are in for a treat! You can find everything: from palaces to charming villages, not to mention the beautiful landscapes that make up the Archipelago where this Kingdom is located!
Side note: hope you don’t get seasick since to get here, you must travel by ship!
For this tour, we’ll explore the entire Imperial City! Our first stop: the Rose Palace, which is perched on a cap of steep white quartzite, with sheer faces impossible to climb (aka carved at the top of a mountain!)
“A majestic castle hewn entirely of dusty-crystal that filtered moonlight through its walls and shone like a prigmatic beacon at the highest point of the Island.”
In this place, Sora and her friend Fairy do a magical performance with combat stances for the Empress Aki, and whoa this place sounds EPIC and so so beautiful. Definitely a top destination for sure!
Then, the Citadel where we can find the Society of Taiga’s headquarters. This is the organization that protects the kingdom, and Sora spends much of her time here training to protect the Kingdom of Kachona. Would totally love to check this place out just to see Sora in action! đ
And in the third part of the City, you can find the Field of Illusions! This is a field of Black and White sand that is meant to confuse enemies, and only those that have been trained in Taiga can go through it. How cool (and dangerous) is that?!?! Would not get too near it of course, but would love to check it out from a SAFE distance. đ
Me, going through the Field of Illusions:

Now that we know a bit about the city (and possibly how to get around a bit!), here are a few places that you don’t want to miss if you want to follow into our main character’s footsteps (very encouraged!).
Iz tavern: This small tavern should not be overlooked, it specializes in Meat Skewers and they sound DELICIOUS. Sora is a food lover so we get to hear a lot of her favorite foods and this place is a true highlight for her! The atmosphere is lively, and while a small ruckus from drunk customers might happen here and there, it’s overall a great place to hang out since the people that mostly hang out in here can disuade the situation. đ
Sora’s House: Another place to visit is of course our main character’s house! Her family is very welcoming – her father is a master potter and her mother is a well-known author. So if you happen to stumble into them while you visit, they will surely treat you well! â„ Personally, I would love to have dinner at Sora’s house since they must eat all the delicious food!
Tiny Herbal Medicinal Shop: This place is very unique, it is part pawn shop AND a gentlemen’s club (LOL) since the owner, Mrs. Mura, was forced to add this particular side business to maintain her shop. Mrs. Mura is a Master Herbalist and she has all the herbs, remedies, dry plants, and basically, all your botanical needs! I find this place super interesting since I love plants and would love to explore this little shop! (NOT TO BE CONFUSED AS THE GENTLEMEN’S CLUB YET) *giggles*
The Autumn Festival: Lastly, this is an event you don’t want to miss if you ever visit the Kingdom of Kichona! The Autumn Festival is all about dances, food, and to remember the fall of power of Prince Gin. Don’t forget to grab a freshly pressed Pear Juice which is Kichona’s traditional fall drink. Yum!

And the list could go on! So many places to explore in the Kingdom of Kichona and even more if you decide to head off to the mainland. However, you’ll have to see for yourself what Circle of Shadows has to offer! đ
Iâm so excited for read this book!!
This world sounds amazing! I love your gif with the face-plant. I laughed out loud at this.
