The Week’s Entrée #81

Hey everyone! Welcome to another edition of The Week’s Entrée!

I feel like I’m getting back in the swing of things with the blog and I’m really happy about it. Even though I’m still busy with exams and finishing up my thesis, I think I finally found my footing and you’ll  be able to see me more active here on the blog, and of course, visiting your sites as well! Oh, and good things are coming this way, I can’t wait to share with you  all some cool things happening here.

On a sadder note, my sister is leaving! *Weeps* The Chef will be going away to US for a few weeks to take some culinary courses and I’ll be here, all alone. In Mexico. It’s gonna be tough, but I’ll manage. Cheers and cookies are much appreciated. 😉

Book reviews in other sites:

I have to admit, I was expecting a lot more from this book. If it weren’t for the beautiful writing, I would have marked this book as DNF, but I forced myself to keep going. I don’t regret reading it, but it still wasn’t my kind of read. However, I’ve seen that a lot of readers have enjoyed this book, so maybe you might enjoy it. I honestly don’t know.

Here’s the book’s summary:
Luisa “Lulu” Mendez has just finished her final year of high school in a small Virginia town, determined to move on and leave her job at the local junkyard behind. So when her father loses her college tuition money, Lulu needs a new ticket out.

Desperate for funds, she cooks up the (definitely illegal) plan to make and sell moonshine with her friends, Roni and Bucky. Quickly realizing they’re out of their depth, Lulu turns to Mason: a local boy who’s always seemed like a dead end. As Mason guides Lulu through the secret world of moonshine, it looks like her plan might actually work. But can she leave town before she loses everything – including her heart?

The summer walks the line between toxic and intoxicating. My Best Everything is Lulu’s letter to Mason – though is it an apology, a good-bye, or a love letter?
