- It’s about PIRATES!
The Veiled Threat is all Elves & Pirates & a bit of Magic and I LOVED it. Actually, I think this is the first time I come across a combo like this and I just want more! (Which means I cannot wait for book 2!) - You will LOVE Captain Shea Lara.
Fierce. Dangerous. Often a bit brash and quick to jump into life-threatening situations, she is a fearless Elvish woman ready to protect her own & her crew, even if it means risking everything. But she has had a lifetime of experience and piracy is what she knows best! I really loved her and was constantly rooting for her! - It has so much adventure!
From the get-go we are pulled into an action-packed adventure with so much piracy going on! And after Captain Shea takes one last job (that may or not involve stealing a princess and NOT falling in love with her), it just keeps on building up. I had a lot of fun meeting so many of the characters that were just as brave and reckless as Shea, which made all of the scenes pretty amazing.
- Last but not least, the Romance!!!
This an LGBTQ+ Romance Fantasy book (not YA) and there are some steamy scenes further down the book. There’s lots of sexual tension between Shea and Princess Joana, particularly since it’s an enemies-to-lovers story between them. I really like them as a couple, but even more how in this world everyone is openly gay and accepted (and I mean everyone). ♥ A true highlight!

I have been looking for good pirate stories for the longest time. I’ve even started to write my own gosh darnit because I could never find what I was looking for, but this book? Oof this sounds like a dream come true!
