Secret Identities. Extraordinary Powers. She wants vengeance. He wants justice.
The Renegades are a syndicate of prodigies — humans with extraordinary abilities — who emerged from the ruins of a crumbled society and established peace and order where chaos reigned. As champions of justice, they remain a symbol of hope and courage to everyone... except the villains they once overthrew.
Nova has a reason to hate the Renegades, and she is on a mission for vengeance. As she gets closer to her target, she meets Adrian, a Renegade boy who believes in justice — and in Nova. But Nova's allegiance is to a villain who has the power to end them both.

I read Renegades a little over a year ago and I remember the thrill and excitement that this book gave me and I cannot believe that I missed writing a review here in the blog! So I will be doing one right now to say that I just loved it so much and I had a major book hangover that lasted two weeks.  And what’s not to love?! It’s about superheroes and antiheroes, the good and the bad of both sides, the dynamics of a new society after chaos and mayhem. Nova, the main character of this book, is a smart, witty girl and her power is to never sleep (with an added bonus) that she will use to seek her revenge on the Renegades who have failed her. Along the way she meets so many amazing characters that compliment this story so well and the plot is just WOW! If you are on the fence of whether or not to start this series, I must insist that it will not disappoint!!!

Now check out my review of book two!

Time is running out. Together, they can save the world. But are they each other's worst nightmare?
Nova's double life is about to get a lot more complicated:
As Insomnia, she is a full-fledged member of the Renegades, a syndicate of powerful and beloved superheroes. She works with Adrian's patrol unit to protect the weak and maintain order in Gatlon City.
As Nightmare, she is an Anarchist—a group of villains who are determined to destroy the Renegades. Nova wants vengeance against the so-called heroes who once failed her when she needed them the most.
But as Nova, her feelings for Adrian are deepening, despite the fact that he is the son of her sworn enemies and, unbeknownst to Nova, he has some dangerous secrets of his own.
In this second installment of the Renegades trilogy, Nova, Adrian, and the rest of their crew—Ruby, Oscar, and Danna—are faced with escalating crime in Gatlon City, while covert weapons and conflicting missions have Nova and Adrian questioning not only their beliefs about justice but also the feelings they have for each other.
The line between good and evil has been blurred, but what's clear to them both is that too much power could mean the end of their City—and the world—as they know it.

Where do I begin???!!! I don’t know how to describe how astonishing Archenemies is, I feel like I don’t do it justice. Everything is so on point, from the story plot to the tiny details added here and there. We meet Nova again and the rest of the characters in an action packed and fast paced sequel of Renegades. I must admit that I am really liking the villains, they are sassy and not all bad to the point that I am sort of wishing for their success. Not true, but somewhere along the middle.

Also, can I point out how amazing Adrian (the second MC) is and how I wish I had his super power? He has the ability to draw any object and bring it to live, how cool is that?! I would need some seriously drawing lessons, lol X) turum tss… Anyway, he is pretty cool. And there is also Max, Adrian’s little brother, who is so sweet and cute and one of my favorite characters! Another thing that I would like to mention is that the banter and the ease between characters just flowed really well and I really had fun reading about them.

The book ended in a major cliffhanger and I cannot wait to read how this story is going to evolve. I want to know what happens next and to be back in Gatlon city among my favorites!

Happy reading! -The Chef
