Hey guys! This month is National Novel Writing Month (also known as NaNoWriMo), and just like last year, I’ve joined forces with my lovely friend Becky from The Life of a Book Nerd Addict to tackle a new novel.
We are super excited about this project and we’re committed to finish at least the first draft in this event! It’s a Dark YA Fantasy inspired by Mexican Mythology and I loooooove it so much! That’s all I can say for now. 😉
Oh! And yesterday I made this temporary cover with its temporary title (everything is temporary LOL) just so we could feel more inspired and excited. I kinda like how it turned out, what do you think?
To be honest, the idea to write a novel is something fairly new to me. Ever since I became a book blogger and reviewer I’ve been more than content to work with books, not write them. I love to help authors get their books out there in the hands of readers. The publishing industry has always fascinated me, especially the publicity/marketing areas, but the last year I’ve been thinking more and more about it and I guess that once a story idea starts to form in your head, it’s natural to consider putting it down on paper. It’s also quite fun creating your own world and rules. 😉
Anywhoo, so this is what I’m doing right now. Will probably keep updating you on how my co-writer and I are doing with this novel.
As of now, current Nano word count is:
5,235 words
Aiming to reach 7k today. Wish me luck! 🙂
GOOD LUCK WITH THIS! A co-writer sounds like a lot of fun!
Good luck, Melissa! This sounds like so much fun! Please keep us updated 🙂
