A.K.A. My birthday month! I don’t usually do much for my birthday, but it’s still cause for a small celebration, don’t you think? I’ll be turning 23 17. Yeah, still young. 😉

This is the sequel to Ash & Bramble (a retelling of Cinderella!) and although I did not read it before Rose & Thorn, I had no trouble at all to enjoy it since it can be read as a standalone (loved that!). This book is full of unusual spins for a retelling, that’s why it makes it a unique read. Definitely recommend!

Thanks to Penguin Books UK for granting me access to Holding Up the Universe by Jennifer Niven! I’ve heard so much about this author so I’m really excited to read her upcoming book. I also downloaded The French Impressionist from Netgalley since it looks like a bright read. 🙂

So glad to see you recommend Rose & Thorn AND that you don't have to read Ash & Bramble first! I've been really wanting to read it, but haven't read the previous so I was a bit unsure. Also excited to see what you think of The Archived! I just picked it up while on sale also and have been looking forward to checking it out! 🙂
I was hesitant to read it before Ash & Bramble (and I didn't know it was a sequel at the time when I requested it) but it was easy to follow the storyline since it takes place 50 years later. That helped a lot. 🙂
