Water’s Wrath Blog Tour: Air Awakens Book Tag + Giveaway!

Posted April 18, 2016 by Melissa in Uncategorized / 2 Comments

Hey guys! Welcome to my stop in the Water’s Wrath blog tour hosted by the lovely Emily from Emily Reads Everything. For my leg of the tour, I decided to create my own Air Awakens Book Tag with the characters from the series! I had a lot of fun coming up with the tags for each character and finding books that I could relate them with (or what I think they’d recommend 😉 ).
But first, here’s a bit of info on the latest installment of the Air Awakens series that’s coming out on April 26th! I already read and LOVED it. Expect a review tomorrow, but for now, read on. 😉
Water’s Wrath
(Air Awakens #4) by Elise Kova
YA Fantasy / Silver Wing Press
April 26th, 2016

Summary:
Librarian turned sorcerer. Sorcerer turned hero. Hero turned puppet.

The Solaris Empire found victory in the North and, at the cost of her heart and her innocence, Vhalla Yarl has earned her freedom. But the true fight is only beginning as the secret forces that have been lurking in the shadows, tugging at the strings of Vhalla’s fate, finally come to light. Nowhere is safe, and Vhalla must tread carefully or else she’ll fall into the waiting arms of her greatest foe. Or former lover.

Now for the tag! ;D

Vhalla is the kind of character that always gets up every time she falls throughout the series. Each fall making her stronger, even though she constantly feels like her world is crumbling down. I admire that about her and I can’t help relate her to another strong heroine that would make Vhalla proud. I’m speaking about Sora from The Cat’s Eye Chronicles by T.L. Shreffler.
Sora is a character raised in wealth, but after getting kidnapped by the assassin that kills her father, she grows in on herself and learns to survive in a world full of magic, becoming the wearer of a cat’s eye that turns her into a powerful opponent.

We all love Aldrik for how intensely he loves and protects Vhalla (also because he’s gorgeous!), so if you are looking for a romance that will burn and consume you as much as Vhaldrik does, then Ash and Meghan from The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa is the one to meet. And Ash is as swoon worthy as Aldrik. ♥♥♥
I think we can all agree that Fritz & Larel are friendship goals. Both are fierce, loyal, caring, sweet, and best of all, talented sorcerers. Without them, Vhalla wouldn’t have made it as far as she has. They have given her strength. It’s the kind of friendship I love in books and the kind that can also be found in The Malediction Trilogy by Danielle L. Jensen. Be it with trolls like Marc, Vincent and Victoria, or with humans like Chris and Sabine, Cécile de Montigny wouldn’t have managed to survive in her treacherous world.
Elecia is a heroine first introduced on Fire Falling, though she makes it hard for the reader to like her in the beginning. Actually, I didn’t expect for her to become a critical character in the series up until the end of Fire Falling and the beginning of Earth’s End. This is why she reminds me of Tod Hudson from the Soul Screamers Series by Rachel K. Vincent. I didn’t want to like Tod, but he slowly grows on me and later on becomes my favorite male character of the series. Plus, he’s a reaper! Deadly, just like Elecia (tho she isn’t quite as literally.)
Oh Jax, my other love! I don’t really know who can match his eccentricity and all that JAX, but there’s this author who pops to mind that writes books that would possibly be on Jax’s TBR. Have you heard about Andrew Smith? He’s written the popular Grasshopper Jungle, Winger, 100 Sideways Miles and some other amazing titles. Totally queer, totally sassy reads with such unique characters such as our favorite guy!

My dear Prince Baldair. I love you. My golden prince. A great friend, a great brother, a ladies man, a heart-breaker, an admirable fighter. Prince Baldair is one of my favorite characters and I loved him in Water’s Wrath. So if I had to pick a book as precious as this prince, it’d be The Good Sister by Jamie Kain, mainly because of misunderstandings between siblings. Also because THIS BOOK IS BEAUTIFUL. Like Baldair. ♥

And there you have it! My answers for this Air Awakens Book Tag. I had a lot of fun coming up with books I feel each character from this amazing series can relate with. Feel free do this tag and let me know about it ’cause I’d love to see your answers!  🙂
