Hi guys! Before heading off to the reviews, I just want to state that this is the first time my sister and I are reviewing a book together (yay!) and we couldn’t be any happier to do so with a book as cute and amazing as this one. Oh, and knowing The Chef, you bet you’ll find a little something after her review that will awaken your sweet tooth. Also, don’t miss out the adorable graphic Jason Sandberg made for the giveaway found at the end of the post. Enjoy!!

This is the sweet and funny tale of a young girl named Candy and a Cankersaurus Rex! Candy receives a dinosaur as a gift and is determined to train him to be a good pet.
*The Reader’s Review*
The cuteness is killing me! Candy and the Cankersaur is definitely one amazing bedtime story that I would LOVE to share with little cousins, and one day, with my own kids. It’s a sweet story about kindness, sharing, learning, asking for forgiveness and appreciating little things in life.
The drawings are so cute and colorful. I specially loved how Cank (the cankersaurus) looks so fun and playful. Candy’s number one rule for him is that he should not bite, but this lively cankersaurus may have a bit of trouble following this rule. Eep! 😀
If you are like me and my sis, someone who still enjoys reading children’s books because you also believe that there’s no such as being too old for them, then you’ll surely enjoy Candy and the Cankersaurus! And after you read, don’t forget to share the cankersaurus love with your little cousins/kids!
*The Chef’s Review*
Lately, I have been reading children books and I must say that they are amazing. They remind me of the good old days when I used to constantly read them. In those days, I was barely getting to know how to read in English so most of my first books were picture books, exactly like this one. They were easy to read, straight to the point and they had a quick moral to them.
Candy was a perfectly normal little girl. Her father was a great man who loved his daughter very much. However, he was a very busy man, so he couldn’t be with her as much as he could wish. To make up for that he decided to find a trusty companion, so with the help of a friend, he adopted a dinosaur called Cankersaur for Candy. Candy was very pleased with her new pet and immediately began to play with it.
Meanwhile, her neighbor Chucky (a boy about her age), jealous of Candy and wanting to catch her attention, decided he wanted a dinosaur as well. Since he couldn’t get it, he got his hands on Cankersaur and got rid of it.
I must say no more since I don’t want to spoil the whole story but I will say that I LOVED the drawings, it brought the whole book to life. It’s a book perfect for children and adults (like me) that love reading picture books. The ending inspired me into making a few cupcakes found below that I tried to copy out of the book. They looked so sweet
