Why you need to read The Tenets in the Tattoos
I had a blast reading The Tenets in the Tattoos, what a fantastic start to The King’s Swordsman series! It’s a story about friendship, betrayals, soul companions, impossible quests, traveling between multiverses, magic and so much more!! This book really has it all, I could barely put it down. Let me introduce you to the four characters that completely stole my heart!
First we have Thorrn! We get to experience this story through his eyes and let me say, he had me laughing the entire time. At first I didn’t know what to think of him, he seemed too full of himself, but once we get past the first few chapters and understand his character, I promise he’s a lovable idiot! 😍 His reactions and descriptions, specially when he travels through “earth” are priceless. I still cannot get over his encounters with the “car beast” and the first time he watched television. 😂✨ But he also has a heart of gold and cares deeply for Evyn, his friends and family and he’ll do everything in his power to keep them safe even though sometimes he messes up along the way.
Which brings me to Evyn! She is shy, determined, kind, modest, quiet, knowledgeable, loves books and basically the opposite of what Thorrn is, but they are each other’s soul companions and even though they had a rough start (all Thorrn’s fault 😅) they quickly sort it all out and accept each other.
Then there is Aubin, the apothecarist of this story that I adore! 😭 I felt so much for him, he believes himself to be lonely and unlovable , but he obviously isn’t. He is also very fun and super smart, I loved the way he teased Thorrn on how he could quickly adapt to earth life, much to Thorrn’s dismay.
And lastly, we have Tuniel!! A powerful mage that also happens to be Aubin’s soul
companion. She is so cool, the moment she started appearing I knew I was going to love her! She can be a bit sarcastic and serious, but also an amazing friend (Thorrn has a crush on her 😂).
Together, they confront many challenges in The Tenets in the Tattoos. The story plot is highly entertaining, lots of high stakes, but also a lot of humor and bickering and I was all here for it! Trust me, this is a story you do not want to miss!!
