El Verano de las Supernovas es uno de los libros más lindos que se pueden encontrar. Está lleno de corazón mientras navega asombrosamente por las estrellas del destino, el amor, la amistad y las promesas hechas desde hace mucho tiempo.
Para empezar, los personajes son fáciles de relacionar y francamente únicos, especialmente el personaje principal, Wilamena. Ella tiene esta increíble personalidad que te hace encariñarte a ella realmente rápido. Y no solo eso, sino que también tiene los pensamientos más ocurrentes y los momentos más vergonzosos, por lo que te diviertes con ella en todo momento.
Lo mismo ocurre con el resto de los personajes. No hay uno solo que no me haya gustado. Es raro que los libros de Literatura Juvenil no tengan antagonistas (usualmente son necesarios para que funcione una trama), sin embargo, en este libro funcionó bien sin él. Todos los personajes son genuinos y amigables, algunos con espinas de acero como la increíble abuela de Wil y su mejor amiga, Irina. ¡Me encantaron todos!
El estilo de escritura de la autora es mi aspecto favorito del libro. Me encanta cómo es ligero y lleno de bromas ingeniosas, cada página es una completa alegría para leer, ya que hay muchas líneas divertidas que harán que todos se rían. Incluso cuando las cosas se ponen un poco serias, este libro hace que sea difícil sentirse deprimido ya que está lleno de positividad, y eso me encantó. Los personajes no podrían haber sido escritos por una mano mejor.
Este libro es un romance contemporáneo de literatura juvenil, y aunque da muchas mariposas, sentí que el aspecto romántico se mueve un poco demasiado rápido para que el lector aprecie adecuadamente los momentos especiales. Pero eso es un gusto personal, a mí me encanta mejor los romances que se desarrollan lentos.
Dicho eso, hay dos intereses amorosos que son muy lindos en esta historia. Grant y Seth, quienes ambos son dulces y encantadores, y provienen de la misma familia. Entre tú y yo, me gustó mas el personaje de Seth para Wil, aunque podría estar en la minoría. No hay nada de malo en Grant, él es muy lindo también, pero siento que aprendí mucho más de Seth que Grant, por lo que eso me hizo “enamorarme” más. De cualquier forma, si te encantan los triángulos amorosos bien hechos, entonces te gustará el que se encuentra en El Verano de las Supernovas. 😉
Veredicto final:
El Verano de las Supernovas es una linda historia para enamorarse. Su romance, sus personajes, y su humor es perfecto para que cada lector encuentre algo entre sus páginas que hará que su corazón se eleve, mire las estrellas y, desee por un verano así.
English Review:
SUMMER OF SUPERNOVAS is a book that must find its way to your TBR soon. It’s full of heart as it stunningly navigates the stars of fate, love, friendship, and long made promises.
To begin with, the characters are relatable and downright unique, especially the main character, Wilamena. She has this incredible personality that makes you warm up to her real fast and forgive any missteps she takes. Not only that, but she also has the craziest thoughts or happens to experience the most embarrassing moments, so you are bound to have fun with her at all times.
The same goes for the rest of the characters. There isn’t a single one who I did not like. It’s rare for YA books to not have antagonists, sometimes they are necessary for a plot to work, yet this book did well without. Everyone is genuine and friendly, some with spines of steel like Wil’s amazing grandma and best friend, Irina. I loved them the best!
The author’s writing style is my favorite aspect of the book. I love how it is light and full of witty banter, every page is a complete joy to read over since there are many funny lines that will make anyone giggle. Even when things get a bit serious, this book makes it hard to feel down since it is brimming with positiveness, and I loved that. The characters couldn’t have been written by a better hand.
This book is a YA contemporary romance, and while it does give plenty of butterflies, I felt that the romantic aspect moves a bit too fast for the reader to properly appreciate the special moments. Sometimes slower is better when it comes to falling in love.
With that said, there are two love interests that are well worthy of your swoons. Grant and Seth, both sweet and charming, both from the same family. Between you and me, I’m Team Seth all the way, although I might be on the minority. There’s nothing wrong with Grant, he is great, but I feel that I got to learn more about Seth than Grant, so that highly tipped the scales for me. Either way, if you love well-done love triangles, then you are in for a treat with this one!
Final Verdict:
SUMMER OF SUPERNOVAS is the right kind of story to fall in love with. Be it its romance, characters, setting, or humor, every reader will find something in it that will make his/her heart soar, look up at the stars, and possibly say, “this is so me”.
