What to expect from The Hollow Gods?
If you love dark and gritty reads with an air of mystery, you will love The Hollow Gods. Set in a small town that hangs onto the fables and local myths, we follow three characters whose fates are tied to the secret behind the dreamwalkers… the mysterious figure that lures women into their forest and after they are found, it’s a matter of time before they turn up dead by the hand of a close loved one.
I was pulled by the intriguing storyline and was transported to Black Hollow. I could see the forest and the small town, could see its habitants keeping dark secrets and the hanging threat of the dreamwalkers. I just love it when books give me these feels, a sense of urgency that doesn’t let go until you reach the last page.
But besides the mystery, I was also caught up in the feelings/emotions of our three characters– Mason, Kai and Miya. Each of them dealing with their own sense of trauma, loss, or secrets of their owns. Miya with the dread of perhaps being the next target and the sense of failure she cannot escape from, or Mason’s grief and loss for his inability to save a patient. And Kai… being first a werewolf more than a human and the acts or forces that define him, uncontrolabe as they are.
Dark Hollow is definitely a place full of mysteries and you will get caught up in all of its dark paths!
