Hi everyone! Welcome to another edition of The Week’s Entrée!

I’m determined to complete my Goodreads challenge of 120 books before the year ends. This means that I will have to read 5 books per week in order to meet my goal. I think I can manage it!!! 55 books to go LOL. Wish me luck ♥

How are you all doing with your challenges?

Latest review on YABC:

I reviewed Fear the Drowning Deep by Sarah Glenn Marsh on YA Books Central

This book is a cool mix between witchcraft and myth/folklore with a dark setting (the deep blue sea!). There’s also a bit of romance but the real star here is the author’s writing–so bewitching! I gave this book 4/5 stars. 🙂

Here’s the book’s summary:

Witch’s apprentice Bridey Corkill has hated the ocean ever since she watched her granddad dive in and drown with a smile on his face. So when a dead girl rolls in with the tide in the summer of 1913, sixteen-year-old Bridey suspects that whatever compelled her granddad to leap into the sea has made its return to the Isle of Man.

Soon, villagers are vanishing in the night, but no one shares Bridey’s suspicions about the sea. No one but the island’s witch, who isn’t as frightening as she first appears, and the handsome dark-haired lad Bridey rescues from a grim and watery fate. The cause of the deep gashes in Fynn’s stomach and his lost memories are, like the recent disappearances, a mystery well-guarded by the sea. In exchange for saving his life, Fynn teaches Bridey to master her fear of the water — stealing her heart in the process.

Now, Bridey must work with the Isle’s eccentric witch and the boy she isn’t sure she can trust — because if she can’t uncover the truth about the ancient evil in the water, everyone she loves will walk into the sea, never to return.

From publishers, authors, Netgalley/Edelweiss, etc.
Snatched this eARC from YABC’s Netgalley account after St. Martin’s Griffin offered it for review. My friend Becky from Booknerd Addict is also reading it this week so I decided to join her to have someone to discuss it with.

To Read This Week:

Besides We Are Still Tornadoes, I’m also buddy reading Graceling by Kristin Cashore with Alex from The Book’s Buzz. So far this book is turning out to be a good read and I cannot wait to discuss with Alex. It’ll be so much fun!

And that’s it for The Week’s Entrée! What are you all reading? 🙂

  1. I gotta check out your review, on YABC. I haven't been very active with reviewing. I'm going to get back into the groove in no time. Looking forward to your review of Graceling. Have a nice week guys!
