Hi everyone! Welcome to another post of CLASSIC FRIDAYS, a brand new weekly meme created by the wonderful Team Gray members of BBCP (Book Blogger Creativity Project).

What is Classic Fridays? A set of questions that can be answered about any book/series. A topic will be chosen every week and with each topic, there will be a set of questions. These topics will range from your TBR to Current Reads and everything bookish in-between! For more info about this meme and future topics, you can visit this page. You can also sign-up to receive next week’s topic HERE.
This Week’s Topic:
… Currently Reading …

How long on average does it take you to read a medium (350-400 page) sized book?
From 2-4 days, tho it highly depends on how good the book is. For example, I’ve been reading Crown of Midnight for over 5 months now LOL.

Is your current read amazing, okay, or not very good? Tell why!
I’m currently reading two books! The Dark Days Club by Alison Goodman is not turning out to be the read I was hoping for. Not enough action + it’s too long. I’m also reading The French Impressionist by Rebecca Bischoff and this one IS turning out to be a good read. The MC is a bit silly, but I understand her so she doesn’t bother me.

Turn to page 187, the first name to appear will be your one true BFF

The Dark Days Club: Carlston is my BFF. He is someone I do like in The Dark Days Club. ♥
The French Impressionist (87%): Thomas. Um , who are you?

Turn to page 43, the first object will be your weapon in a zombie apocalypse
A freakin’ table, you guys! I’m ruined. And pictures in the other book. ACK.

First line of your current read
The Dark Days Club:
In 1810, the British King, George III, descended into a melancholy madness from which he would never recover.
The French Impressionist:
I’m here because I lied. (I really like how this book starts!)

What do you think about the main character so far?
DDC: I believe Lady Helen is not as special as everyone says she is. However, I still haven’t reached the part where she gets to prove her skills, so I might change my mind. Hopefully.

TFI: Like I said, Rosemary is a bit silly & immature, but I get her. Plus, she’s 15! She’s like Georgia from Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging.

What genre are you reading right now?
The Dark Days Club is a YA Paranormal read in the Regency era. Sort of Historical. The French Impressionist is YA Contemporary.

What is your favorite thing about your current read?
What I really like is the time period in The Dark Days Club and how the MC tries to prove that women can me smart and do stuff on their own without the help of men. Meanwhile, I LOVE that The French Impressionist is set in Nice, France and the colorful characters it has introduced me to. They are amazing and hard not to love!

Is this your first book by this author?
It is my first from both authors!

Is it a standalone or part of a series?
The Dark Days Club is part of a series and The French Impressionist is a standalone.

Why or how did you choose your current read?
The Dark Days Club: A couple of weeks ago I featured this book on my bookstagram account and one of my lovely friends left a comment saying she also had it and if I would be interested on buddy reading it. I love buddy reading so of course I said yes, and while this read hasn’t been as good as I thought it would be, it has been fun discussing it with her.

The French Impressionist: I fell in love with its cover and I just had to start reading it! It also serves as my first read for #ARCAugust and as a review book for YA Books Central.

If you could go to the world of your current read, regardless of genre, and spend a week there, what would you want to do? Which of the characters would you want to hang out with and why?
In The Dark Days Club I would want to hang out with my BFF Lord Carlston, of course! He is quite a dashing, broody man that, despite having a ‘bad reputation’, he would make excellent company. Besides, he needs my love. 🙂 And I would love to go to a ball with him and dance!

In The French Impressionist I would love to spend the day with Sylvie. She is so cool and amazing and I really really love her. ♥

Take a picture of one thing or place or event that you feel represents your current read and post on your bookstagram with the tag #ClassicFridays.
*Pic in progress for The French Impressionist* HOWEVER, I already did one with my The Dark Days Club that actually fits the prompt.
Don’t forget to leave me a link to your Classic Fridays post if you participate! ♥
