Guys, I never thought I’d say this but I *think* I’m in a book blogging slump.
Like, I start writing something and I can’t bring myself to finish a single post. And as a result, I have a gazillion drafts (okay, maybe around 7 in total) but STILL, it sucks. I want to blog, yet I don’t feel like blogging. Um, whut?
I’ve felt so uninspired lately that I’ve barely posted in the last few weeks. I sort of feel like blaming my latest reading slump (which I believe it’s finally coming to an end since I’ve read two pretty great books in the last few days). Could it be? Hmmm…
Maybe I should read more books non-stop till the point of being full of goody bookish feels. What do you guys think? I’m starting to like this idea…
Or maybe I should start joining a few bookish memes? I used to do one, but I sort of fell out of it since the hosts stopped making it a weekly thing. But then again, I don’t want to fill up my blog with memes just for the sake of posting. I just want to have fun writing blog posts! Is that too much to ask? *cries*
I love book blogging, it makes me happy, and I’m definitely going through a weird phase right now but I need to get over this like, NOW.
Have you ever gone through a book blogging slump? Any tips for this uninspired soul? Cookies? I could always use hugs and cookies!
I don't see why cookies can't help. But honestly I think taking a break helps. I know it's like *gasp* what? But sometimes taking a step back helps. Simply reading without the worry of reviewing helps, because then you're just reading without stressing about getting a review up. It helped a friend of mine and it might help you. Don't worry Mel, you'll get through it!
Aww thanks Jazmen! I think that's I will do. Just getting it all out there has actually helped too. ♥
I'm happy to hear it!
No no no no no no. Don't worry! I went through the same thing and even made an announcement about me taking Youtube more seriously than blogging. But yet I still post so many posts in a month! It's not a phase, per say, but it's just what's happening with life outside. At the time I stopped writing posts and my pace slowed down, I was packed with schoolwork, midterms, and my teachers giving me so many projects.

Will try not to worry! *eye twitch*. Yes, I think life caught up with me and just stressing out blocked my creativity juices. Really hope to get back up on my feet soon. ♥
OH NO:( Well, I've been in a blogging slump that lasted for quite a while, but that's because I put too much stuff in the on my head, and I felt like blogging after it all got over, blogging was the thing I put away to give myself a break.
I hope you do get out of it, I guess my only (great and oh-so-sagely) advice is to not pressure yourself, and the fun will come back! YAY!
That's great advice, Aditi! Pressuring myself to have fun is not really the answer lol.
I came back from a blogging slump in Dec. Don't force yourself to blog. Take the time off and do a brain dump. Write all the blog ideas you have, no matter how lame or great it is. Research new book blogs or unique ideas. Something in that will spark a fire to blog again. I know it has for me. I hope it helps!
Haha Brain dump, I like that! I just searched for my little book blogging ideas notebook and I'm jotting down every single silly idea. I'm actually having fun doing that!
I was in a blogging slump recently too, I took a small break and participated in a few more memes than usual. It helped me to post more reguarly and get back in the "blogging groove".
I will search one out to participate in. Memes are fun, and even more when lots off peeps participate in and everyone interacts. 🙂
Oh, this is so sad. I feel like that all the time, specially in my Spanish blog. I do have some memes, but lately I've posted one review a week, and it sucks. I'm sure you'll find the inspiration you're looking for soon.
You rock!
Thank you, Lis! I forget you have a Spanish blog, I'll visit it soon ♥♥♥
Aww I'm sorry you're in a blogging slump! When I get that way, it definitely helps to step away from blogging and just read a LOT, watch some TV, and do some random weekly memes like TTT or WoW! ^_^
