Hello lovely readers! Welcome to another mission of Sassy’s Fangirl Debuts!
Sassy’s Fangirl Debuts is a super elite group of agents who have crossed their hearts and sworn to die (not necessarily) to promote and cheer on 2016 debut authors and their books. This amazing team of agents was pulled together by the wonderful Talina, also known as Agent T, of Sassy & Dangerous book blog! Together, we will be doing our very best to be carrying on secret (okay, not THAT secret) missions of spreading the 2016 debut love by writing guest posts, interviews and so much more! For more info about the S.F.D. you can check out my post.
For this third mission, I am here to share with you my open letter to Julie Eshbaugh, author of Ivory and Bone! AGH, SO NERVOUS! But before you read it, take a peek about at AMAZING upcoming debut:

Ivory and Bone by Julie Eshbaugh
June 14th 2016 by HarperTeen
YA Historical Fantasy
The only life seventeen-year-old Kol knows is hunting at the foot of the Great Ice with his brothers. But food is becoming scarce, and without another clan to align with, Kol, his family, and their entire group are facing an uncertain future.

Traveling from the south, Mya and her family arrive at Kol’s camp with a trail of hurt and loss behind them, and hope for a new beginning. When Kol meets Mya, her strength, independence, and beauty instantly captivate him, igniting a desire for much more than survival.

Then on a hunt, Kol makes a grave mistake that jeopardizes the relationship that he and Mya have only just started to build. Mya was guarded to begin with—and for good reason—but no apology or gesture is enough for her to forgive him. Soon after, another clan arrives on their shores. And when Mya spots Lo, a daughter of this new clan, her anger intensifies, adding to the already simmering tension between families. After befriending Lo, Kol learns of a dark history between Lo and Mya that is rooted in the tangle of their pasts.

When violence erupts, Kol is forced to choose between fighting alongside Mya or trusting Lo’s claims. And when things quickly turn deadly, it becomes clear that this was a war that one of them had been planning all along.

Open Letter to Julie Eshbaugh
Dear Julie Eshbaugh,

You probably don’t know me, so let me introduce myself first. My name is Melissa, a reader from Mexico, a prince hoarder (I just love my book princes) and a lover of fantasy AND historical fiction. I love many genres, but fantasy and historical have got to be my topmost favorites. Like, I LOVE them to pieces. Reason why I’m calling it destiny that thanks to the opportunity to write you this letter, I learned about Ivory and Bone!

So basically, this was me after reading the blurb:

Because, come on! A prehistoric fantasy? How COOL is that?! I AM BEYOND EXCITED FOR IT.

I wonder how you came up with the idea… Was it because you’ve lived a nomadic life yourself? Was it difficult to go back so much in time? Will there be lots of kissing?! Did you watch The Croods? (I loved that movie, so funny!). Hehe, sorry for all the q’s. I am just extremely curious about Ivory and Bone and I seriously can’t wait for June 14th to be tomorrow. *Shakes fist at calendar*

I’m sure when the time comes your book will rock my socks off and millions of others as well. It sounds totally amazing and unique and full of primitive awesomeness. So thank you for writing this book and wanting to share it with us and also HUGE thanks if you are here, right now, reading this short letter. It truly means the world to me!

Hugs and kisses to you and Ivory and Bone ♥
– Melissa
P.S. WHAT AN AWESOME COVER. I love how it glows! 😀

About the Author:
Julie Eshbaugh is the author of the upcoming Ivory and Bone (HarperCollins, 2016). She used to have trouble staying in one spot, having lived in places as varied as Utah, France, and New York City. Julie eventually returned home to the Philadelphia area, where she now lives with her husband, son, cat and dog. Her favorite moments are when the unexpected happens and she cheers loudest when the pitcher gets a hit.

  1. Lol to the gif! It's such a fitting one 😉 Melissa your excitement is always so contagious! I hope there's lots of kissing too! *fingers crossed* 😀

  2. Oh, hey… You're from Mexico? I didn't know that. I thought Talina was the only blogger in Mexico. So cool!

I loved your letter and all of the questions that you asked. 🙂

I have been hearing/seeing a lot of things about this one, but I don't know if I'm actually going to read it. I'm so picky when it comes to fantasy. I don't know why. If I do decide to read it, it'll probably be a library borrow.
