The Week’s Entrée #76

Posted September 7, 2015 by Melissa in Uncategorized / 2 Comments

Hey everyone! Welcome to another edition of The Week’s Entrée!
I was wrong, you guys. Trying to keep up with college, an internship, two blogs and basic stuff like chores around the house is NOT an easy feat. I’ve been trying so hard to not neglect anything, but as you can probably tell, I’m not doing a good job when it comes to the blog and reading. BUT I’M OPTIMISTIC! I will find a way to make time and organize myself better and stop watching so many kdramas on what little free time I have *looks away guiltily*.

How have you been holding up? Is life busy on your end or are you enjoying some stress-free days? 😉

Book reviews in other sites:

I reviewed Undertow by Michael Buckley at Kate Tilton, Connecting Authors & Readers

If crazy reads are your thing then you’re going to LOVE Undertow by Michael Buckley. This book was an insane ride into a dystopian/sci-fi world. I can’t wait to read the sequel!

Here’s the book’s summary:
Sixteen-year-old Lyric Walker’s life is forever changed when she witnesses the arrival of 30,000 Alpha, a five-nation race of ocean-dwelling warriors, on her beach in Coney Island. The world’s initial wonder and awe over the Alpha quickly turns ugly and paranoid and violent, and Lyric’s small town transforms into a military zone with humans on one side and Alpha on the other. When Lyric is recruited to help the crown prince, a boy named Fathom, assimilate, she begins to fall for him. But their love is a dangerous one, and there are forces on both sides working to keep them apart. Only, what if the Alpha are not actually the enemy? What if they are in fact humanity’s only hope of survival? Because the real enemy is coming. And it’s more terrifying than anything the world has ever seen.

Action, suspense, and romance whirlpool dangerously in this cinematic saga, a blend of District 9 and The Outsiders.

Books I Got Last Week:

{Won}
I won this beauty of a book in a fb party! So excited because it’s an anthology of Alice in Wonderland retellings! ♥

To Read This Week:

I’m currently reading Firsts by Laurie Elizabeth Flynn! This book is about a girl who lets boys have their first times with her so they can do it well with their girlfriends. It sure is a messed up story but there’s a lot to learn from it. I think I might even need lots and lots of tissues.

And that’s it for The Week’s Entrée! What are you reading this week? 🙂

  1. I totally understand the not-enough-time and feeling-overwhelmed thing. I had jury duty ALL last week and I'll be catching up from that for quite a while. I'm so behind with all my favorite blogs (and posting on my own blog). So sad!

    Firsts sounds edgy but intriguing. I might need to check that one out.
