The Week’s Entrée #75

Hey everyone! Welcome to another edition of The Week’s Entrée!
Today’s the last day of August, can you believe it?! I’m sure sad to say goodbye to this month, but I’m so excited for September! So many good books coming out and things around college and my internship are going well. Yay! How are you all holding up? 🙂

Also, I feel the need to tell you that I started watching Playful Kiss (korean drama) yesterday at 2 am and I. Am. HOOKED. The Feeeeeeels. The Boy. The pain! It’s also SO EMBARRASSING. But I LOVE IT. Watch it if you haven’t (though I’m pretty sure that you have if you love kdramas!).

Book reviews in other sites:

I reviewed Geek Girl by Holly Smale at Kate Tilton, Connecting Authors & Readers

If you’re looking for a cute & funny MG/YA book, then Geek Girl is the one for you. It sort of reminds me of Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging. Gave me a few laughs with all the silliness going on.

Here’s the book’s summary:
Harriet Manners knows a lot of things.

She knows that a cat has 32 muscles in each ear, a “jiffy” lasts 1/100th of a second, and the average person laughs 15 times per day. What she isn’t quite so sure about is why nobody at school seems to like her very much. So when she’s spotted by a top model agent, Harriet grabs the chance to reinvent herself. Even if it means stealing her Best Friend’s dream, incurring the wrath of her arch enemy Alexa, and repeatedly humiliating herself in front of the impossibly handsome supermodel Nick. Even if it means lying to the people she loves.

As Harriet veers from one couture disaster to the next with the help of her overly enthusiastic father and her uber-geeky stalker, Toby, she begins to realise that the world of fashion doesn’t seem to like her any more than the real world did.

And as her old life starts to fall apart, the question is: will Harriet be able to transform herself before she ruins everything?

To Read This Week:

I’m currently reading Ten Things Sloane Hates About Tru by Tera Lynn Childs! This is Tera’s first try at writing YA Contemporary, and so far, I think she has nailed it. Already feeling for Tru. ♥
