Hidden Huntress Fan Art Competition!

Hey everyone! I’m super stoked to introduce you today to the Hidden Huntress Fan Art Competition!

This awesome event was pulled together by Danielle L. Jensen & Angry Robot Books in celebration of Hidden Huntress‘ recent release on June 2nd. Now that you’ve had the chance to read it (or that you’re about to) we would love for you to join in on the fun and share your love for The Malediction Trilogy through ART!

Here’s what Danielle L. Jensen has to say about the competition:

“I am insanely excited about The Malediction Trilogy art contest! There is no greater compliment than knowing my stories have inspired someone’s artwork, and I LOVE when people share those images with me. I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with.”

 Hear, hear!

But if you haven’t heard about this wonderful series, here’s the info about the first two books:

Stolen Songbird by Danielle L. Jensen
The Malediction Trilogy #1

For five centuries, a witch’s curse has bound the trolls to their city beneath the ruins of Forsaken Mountain. Time enough for their dark and nefarious magic to fade from human memory and into myth. But a prophesy has been spoken of a union with the power to set the trolls free, and when Cécile de Troyes is kidnapped and taken beneath the mountain, she learns there is far more to the myth of the trolls than she could have imagined.
Cécile has only one thing on her mind after she is brought to Trollus: escape. Only the trolls are clever, fast, and inhumanly strong. She will have to bide her time, wait for the perfect opportunity.
But something unexpected happens while she’s waiting – she begins to fall for the enigmatic troll prince to whom she has been bonded and married. She begins to make friends. And she begins to see that she may be the only hope for the half-bloods – part troll, part human creatures who are slaves to the full-blooded trolls. There is a rebellion brewing. And her prince, Tristan, the future king, is its secret leader.
As Cécile becomes involved in the intricate political games of Trollus, she becomes more than a farmer’s daughter. She becomes a princess, the hope of a people, and a witch with magic powerful enough to change Trollus forever.

Hidden Huntress by Danielle L. Jensen
 The Malediction Trilogy #2
Beneath the mountain, the king’s reign of tyranny is absolute; the one troll with the capacity to challenge him is imprisoned for treason. Cécile has escaped the darkness of Trollus, but she learns all too quickly that she is not beyond the reach of the king’s power. Or his manipulation.

Recovered from her injuries, she now lives with her mother in Trianon and graces the opera stage every night. But by day she searches for the witch who has eluded the trolls for five hundred years. Whether she succeeds or fails, the costs to those she cares about will be high.

To find Anushka, she must delve into magic that is both dark and deadly. But the witch is a clever creature. And Cécile might not just be the hunter. She might also be the hunted…

Whew, with all that good stuff out of the way, let’s talk about MY leg of the competition.
I’ll be hosting the fan art contest about TROLLS. So if you’ve ever fancied about drawing, painting or sharing in any other artistic way (the sky is the limit!) how you imagine the trolls of the beautiful underground city of Trollus, then this is your chance.
You can draw Marc, perhaps? (See my not-so-great unfinished attempt on the left) Or our swoon-worthy Tristan? Oh, we would also love to see how you picture Anaïs and the twins!

I want you to get creative! I love my trolls from The Malediction Trilogy so I’m sure I will love all of your entries. I seriously cannot wait to see them. I’ll be choosing my top three favorite submissions and I’ll send them over to Danielle for her to pick the winner of my blog.
Again, to enter the competition you must post your fan art on any social media using the hashtag #HHArtComp and leave me the link to your entry in the comments below OR you can email me your entry at melissa.rob168@gmail.com with the subject “HHArtComp Entry” and I’ll share it on my social media accounts, including the twitter and instagram fanbase accounts @StolenSongbird.
But if Trolls aren’t your thing (what?!), remember that you can also enter on the other three participating blogs. Or enter on all FOUR. That would be awesome. 🙂
And that’s it!
But wait, before you go, I want to share with you our awesome Hidden Huntress cake. You are the first to see this beauty and I hope this inspires you to get even more creative since we made it especially for this occassion.

That little dude is Tristan, btw. A handsome troll prince I proudly made, LOL. Everything else was made by The Chef. 😉

Now that’s truly it. Good luck to everyone in the contest & HAVE FUN! 😉

  1. I have no artistic talent whatsoever, so I’m not sure how I’d do at this; but I’ll definitely have to consider maybe doing a digital drawing. Thanks for sharing this amazing contest Melissa – what a fabulous way to promote the book! ♥

    • I hope you do decide to enter! Digital drawings are awesome and definitely artistic. Wish I had the talent to do beautiful things with technology. 😀
