Everyone! The Reader and the Chef has now a CUSTOM domain.
If you’ll take a quick look at your searchbar, you’ll notice that our domain now reads www.thereaderandthechef.com instead of www.thereaderandthechef.blogspot.com . This is a small (but huge to me) step for the blog and it is making me very happy. It looks so clean and pretty, though I will miss using the old sub-domain of blogger since I’ve had it for a year and a half. Even so, you don’t have to worry about forgetting to leave out the “blogspot.com” when you search for us because if you do, you will be redirected to our blog with no problem at all. 😉
Now, I have to admit that I struggled a bit to make this work because I hardly know how to do this kind of stuff. I’m horrible. I went through several tutorials until I finally got it working. However, I’m still trying to figure out how to make the site accept the naked domain (thereaderandthechef.com) since it doesn’t seem to be working even though I clearly checked the “redirect” box on blogger. Oh well, for now I’ll try to fix this on my own as fast as my poor skills can, but if I can’t figure it out, I’ll ask for help. (If you know how to do this, I’d gladly accept your advice too!)

I still miss it a bit! My fingers still type blogspot whenever I want to write my address. 🙂
