So Alison Sekemoto is heading towards New Covington to save her creator, Kanin, and away from Zeke *cries* who she left healing in Eden. She’s grown throughout the months and she’s as deadly as ever. Unfortunately, she has to let Jackal, her blood-brother and enemy , to tag along on her quest because she can’t possibly make it without his assistance. Moving on with the same purpose, Jackal and Allison manage to get inside New Covington, but notice right away that something’s wrong with the population. There’s a new wave of the Red Lung disease and people are dying, infecting the rest of New Covington. The only person that might know the cure is Kanin, but first, Allie and Jackal have to find him among the chaos, that is, if they can survive that long with Sarren on the loose.
And BOOM, action everywhere. From fighting rabids and vampires, to fighting the deranged citizens of New Covington. If things were messy back in The Immortal Rules, The Eternity Cure makes that one pale in comparison. It’s fight after fight, with some very close calls that stilled my heart. Oh, but the big surprise in the middle had me fist-pumping into the air! Loved it. Oh, but the other huge twist at the ending, gah, KILLED me. I really don’t know how I’m breathing right now.
But oh my gosh guys, even though this book is about vampires and rabids and so much blood, this book is amazing because it has HUMOUR and SARCASM all over its pages. There are too many laugh-out-loud moments it’s practically illegal. All thanks to the one-of-a-kind-I-don’t-know-if-he’s-good-or-evil Jackal. I would take my hat off for that dude if I were wearing one. He’s my favorite character of this book and that’s saying something because on the first book I totally wanted him dead dead, you know, not vampire dead.
I’m still not sure when I’m going to read the third and final book of The Immortal Rules trilogy because a) I still don’t own it, and b) I fear what’s going to happen next. However, this, I’ll tell you: It’s going to ROCK. It’s going to break my world and I won’t be able to breathe or smile or possibly live a happy life after that. How do I know? Because Julie Kagawa tends to do just that to her readers. But hey, I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s worth it.
I have book one at home, but for some reason I can't bring myself to pick it up… Still, I'm glad to hear the sequel didn't disappoint you at all, and I hope the third and final instalment is going to give you a real blast!
It took me a long time to pick these books up too, but now I sort of regret that decision. They are fantastic and I hope you decide to give them a go. 😀
I have the first book, but I haven't gotten around to reading it yet. But, with this kind of rave review about the second one? I think I will be needing to read it sooner than later! Great review 🙂

Meaning The Iron Fey? Book three was my favorite of all, but book 4 was a tough one to go through. Sort of depressing, but I still liked it a lot. 🙂
