Book Summary:
Who would have guessed that four minutes could change everything?
Today should be one of the worst days of seventeen-year-old Hadley Sullivan’s life. Having missed her flight, she’s stuck at JFK airport and late to her father’s second wedding, which is taking place in London and involves a soon-to-be stepmother Hadley’s never even met. Then she meets the perfect boy in the airport’s cramped waiting area. His name is Oliver, he’s British, and he’s sitting in her row.
A long night on the plane passes in the blink of an eye, and Hadley and Oliver lose track of each other in the airport chaos upon arrival. Can fate intervene to bring them together once more?
Quirks of timing play out in this romantic and cinematic novel about family connections, second chances, and first loves. Set over a twenty-four-hour-period, Hadley and Oliver’s story will make you believe that true love finds you when you’re least expecting it.
*The Reader’s Review*
My rating: 5/5 stars!
The
Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight is so darn GOOD. I want to yell
at it “BRAVO” from atop a very high building while clapping and eating
chocolate. Maybe even gush a thing or two about it to any unsuspecting
passersby, besides you of course.

It’s just
that from beginning to end this book gave me all I wanted to read about and more.
It made me feel, it made me fall in love, it made me mad (at some characters)
and it made me laugh and smile stupidly from the sweet, sweet things that
happen between Hadley and Oliver.

The author
has a fascinating way of describing everything with the right words. I wasn’t
just reading about Hadley’s and Oliver’s story, I was THERE, at the airport, on
the plane, in London and in any other place in between. Not only that, but with
each character I came across, I never had trouble imagining them because they
felt real and very much alive.

I admit I
was attracted to read this book because of the love story it promises just by
its title and beautiful cover. It’s cute and funny, highly improbable, but
opens the possibility of finding love when and where you least expect it. Yet there’s also worth mentioning the main
plot that makes this great love story possible, the one that has to do with
Hadley’s father getting married again in London.

Just by
thinking about this makes my blood boil. How could her father do such a thing?
After all the support Hadley and her mother gave him to pursue his dreams, he
decides to divorce and stay in London because he falls in love with another
person. I mean, come on! He totally abandoned her and he expects Hadley to be
happy to see him walk the aisle? No sir, you’re a horrible parent but you’re lucky
to have Hadley as your daughter. She has a hard time accepting it (and I’m on
her side with all her thoughts) but she proves at the end that she is far
better than YOU will ever be.

Whew, with
that out of the way (I got carried a bit), all I have left to say without making this review much
longer than it already is, is that The Statistical Probability of Love at First
Sight is sooo worth your time and makes you believe that anything can happen. Also, you might get an insane urge to go hang around an airport all day. Yup, just saying. *wink*
