A typical December for the Alexanders consists of gingerbread baking, movies, and looking at Christmas lights, but after their parents are called in to work, Ava, Nolan, and Charlotte are sent to stay with their most feared relative for a week-Great-Aunt Poppy. Have mom and dad gone mad?
Of course, the children are terrified. Who wouldn't be? No one believes them when they say that Poppy-or Groppy as they call her-is a witch. If the haunted house isn't bad enough, there are thousands of crazy cats, chaotic and deadly spells, and even worse-frightening howls from the woods that grow louder and closer every second. Something deadly lurks outside. Staying alive while living with Groppy for an entire week is-well-impossible!
In order to survive the holiday, it will take all the bravery and wit the kids can muster. But who knows? Things aren't always what they seem! The best holiday surprise this Christmas might be hiding in the most unlikely place imagined!

Why you need to read Enchanted Misadventures with Great-Aunt Poppy
What en enjoyable read! Enchanted Misadventures with Great-Aunt Poppy was everything I hoped it would be. It’s the perfect combination of spooky fall vibes and at the same time the heartwarming Christmas feels! In this adorable middle grade fantasy, we follow the story of Ava, Nolan and Charlotte (the Alexander siblings), where they unexpectedly have to spend Christmas with their Great-Aunt Poppy. She is a family member who they have never met except for Ava who is the eldest and has almost no recollections of her. And as soon as they arrive to her house, they immediately sense something eerie. They quickly learn that their aunt is in fact a witch, magic exists, cauldrons can create potions to grant wishes, werewolves are real and a cat can also talk?!
As the story progresses, their doubts and fears are turned into adoration towards their great-aunt Poppy who they decided to nickname Groppy. And let me say I absolutely adored the Alexander siblings! How they cared about each other and the innocent pranks they played had me laughing the entire time. Ava being the eldest, always worried about Nolan and Charlotte and I just adored how she was constantly making sure they were out of trouble. Nolan was a bit more mischievous, however he also cared about his sisters and looked up to them. And then there is adorable Charlotte, despite her feeling a bit left out for being the youngest, she was constantly trying to help out and prove how mature she was.
We also get to meet Merlin, the talking cat! I loved him, he was such an interesting character and it was fun to see him hang out with the Alexander siblings always providing a word of advice. Loved great-aunt Poppy as well, at first she was a mystery, but later as she spends more time with the children, we get to know more about how amazing she is. The story plot was super entertaining and fast paced, I could hardly put it down! For anyone looking for a fun middle grade, spooky but also heartwarming story with a pinch of Christmas vibes, this one is for you!!

AI art based on Enchanted Misadventures with Great-Aunt Poppy!
As part of our tour stop, I decided to make an alternative cover for this fantastic middle grade fantasy! There’s this super fun trend going around the book community in which you convert book titles into epic art using a website called wombo.art and I thought Enchanted Misadventures was PERFECT to use it with. I also recreated a few of my favorite scenes based on book quotes that had epic descriptions. Honestly, I had a lot of fun doing these images & I really hope you like them as well! 😍
(Isn’t this alternative cover art amazing?! 😍)
The perfect Groppy Christmas tree!!
Merlin, the talking cat!! 😀
Aunt Groppy smells like spices which is really nice? Minus the cat litter smell, but it’s fine because we like cats!
