Bring Me Their Hearts by Sara Wolf

Release date: June 5th, 2018
Publisher: Entangled Teen
Genre: YA Fantasy
Book Summary:

Zera is a Heartless—the immortal, unaging soldier of a witch. Bound to the witch Nightsinger ever since she saved her from the bandits who murdered her family, Zera longs for freedom from the woods they hide in. With her heart in a jar under Nightsinger’s control, she serves the witch unquestioningly.

Until Nightsinger asks Zera for a prince’s heart in exchange for her own, with one addendum: if she’s discovered infiltrating the court, Nightsinger will destroy Zera’s heart rather than see her tortured by the witch-hating nobles.

Crown Prince Lucien d’Malvane hates the royal court as much as it loves him—every tutor too afraid to correct him and every girl jockeying for a place at his darkly handsome side. No one can challenge him—until the arrival of Lady Zera. She’s inelegant, smart-mouthed, carefree, and out for his blood. The prince’s honor has him quickly aiming for her throat.

So begins a game of cat and mouse between a girl with nothing to lose and a boy who has it all.

Winner takes the loser’s heart.

Literally.

Author Interview

1.What can readers expect inside the pages of Bring Me Their Hearts?
BRING ME THEIR HEARTS is a dark, sharp fantasy about a snarky, emotionally-wounded girl with no heart trying to find her place in the world. It isn’t my first attempt at writing fantasy, but it’s the first to be published!
2. Is there a particular real place/setting that you drew inspiration from for this book?
I absolutely adore Byzantine architecture, so I imagined the city of Vetris – in which the story takes the most place – as a Byzantine version of Versailles.
3. What Gif BEST describes Bring Me Their Hearts?
4. What song gives you all the Bring Me Their Hearts feels?
This is a great question – while I was working on the manuscript, one of my beta readers told me there was a band with the same initials as BMTH, so I researched them a bit and found this! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cw6HHEL8zoM I wrote a ton of the book listening to this – the lyrics are great and fit really well.
5. If you had a chance to sit down with one of your characters and ask about all their secrets, who would it be?
I would definitely sit down with Malachite – he’s the subterranean elf silver-haired cutie who I love and adore. He’s trained his whole life fighting dragon-esque monsters called valkerax in his hometown – he’d probably have some WILD stories.

6. What scene from Bring Me Their Hearts are you excited for people to read?
The ending was really fun to write, and it brought a lot of tensions to head, so I’m very excited for people to read that.

7. If your book could recommend other YA books, which ones would they be?
Definitely the Court of Thorns and Roses series!
……….
Thank you so much for answering my questions, Sara! Super excited to read your book and meet all of your characters like Malachite! ♥♥♥

About Sara Wolf

Sara Wolf is a twenty-something author who adores baking, screaming at her cats, and screaming at herself while she types hilarious things. When she was a kid, she was too busy eating dirt to write her first terrible book. Twenty years later, she picked up a keyboard and started mashing her fists on it and created the monster known as the Lovely Vicious series. She lives in San Diego with two cats, a crippling-yet-refreshing sense of self-doubt, and not enough fruit tarts ever.
