The Week’s Entrée #114

Posted September 5, 2016 by Melissa in Uncategorized / 2 Comments

Hi everyone! Welcome to another edition of The Week’s Entrée!

My sister and I are super happy that September is finally here! This means that we’ll be able to bake (as in her baking and me just tasting) a bit more freely without worrying about over-heating the house since we can’t turn off the AC. Plus, pumpkin flavor everything y’all. Can’t wait for Fall to officially start!

Also, have you guys entered our monthly giveaway on Instagram? We are giving away one book based on our August Book Haul. It’s international and ends on Wednesday so don’t forget to enter if you haven’t! Click on the image to go there. 😉

Latest book reviews in other sites:

I reviewed Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco on YA Books Central

I think you all must know by now that Stalking Jack the Ripper is so far my favorite YA novel of 2016. This book is AMAZING. If you don’t have it on your TBR, then I highly encourage you to add it pronto. It has mystery, wonderful characters and some very swoony scenes. Gosh, Thomas, is now part of my favorite book boyfriends lists ♥♥♥

Here’s the book’s summary:
Seventeen-year-old Audrey Rose Wadsworth was born a lord’s daughter, with a life of wealth and privilege stretched out before her. But between the social teas and silk dress fittings, she leads a forbidden secret life.

Against her stern father’s wishes and society’s expectations, Audrey often slips away to her uncle’s laboratory to study the gruesome practice of forensic medicine. When her work on a string of savagely killed corpses drags Audrey into the investigation of a serial murderer, her search for answers brings her close to her own sheltered world.

From publishers, authors, Netgalley/Edelweiss, etc.
Big thanks to The Solopreneur for sending me a copy of The Tormented Witch for review! I really hope this book turns out to be a good read, I love the cover and it looks even prettier in person! Also huge thanks to Harper Collins for granting me access to Beheld by Alex Flinn ♥ I actually thought this was a companion novel to Beastly (also, have you seen the movie? ♥) but Beastly is actually book 1 in the Kendra Chronicles and Beheld is book 4. Whoops. Need to catch up! 😀
{Purchased}

I also purchased a copy of Beastly because I haven’t read it yet *blushes*.

To Read This Week:

I’m currently reading Spells and Sorcery by S. Usher Evans and The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson. In all honesty, both books are turning out to be slow reads for me, but maybe because I feel like I’m going through a slump? Idk, but this neither one is making me flip pages. For now…

And that’s it for The Week’s Entrée! What are you all reading? 🙂
