*The Reader’s Review*
My rating: 5/5 stars
I DIED, YOU GUYS. THIS BOOK KILLED ME. IT’S AWFUL AND AMAZING AND I CAN’T EVEN BREATHE THROUGH ALL THE FEEEELS.
I just don’t know what to do with myself anymore. I stayed up late thinking it would be a good idea to finish the book but I REGRET IT. I don’t regret reading it because man, it was freaking fantastic, but I regret my weak heart. It’s so hurt right now. I even had to bother Eileen from BookCatPin with my feels and she was so sweet (love yah!!!♥♥). She soothed and calmed me for a bit, reminding me a lot of Larel and aghhh.  I still cried myself to sleep, LOL.
I kind of feel evil recommending this series now because THE PAIN, but still, despite it all, it’s so very worth it. Fire Falling, just like Air Awakens, is such an outstanding read and hands down one of the best sequels I’ve ever read. It gave me everything I wanted and craved to read after Air Awakens, including things I didn’t because OUCH my heart.
Fire Falling picks up right where Air Awakens left off and it shows us how Vhalla is struggling to come to terms with everything that happened, the heartbreak of losing one of her childhood friends, being sentenced to go to war, and the heavy weight on her shoulders of being the last Windwalker. Sorcerers are not well appreciated among normal humans, so you’d expect them to embrace Vhalla as one of their own, but no. They think she’s a monster and are trying to turn her into one.
Vhalla has grown into a fierce woman, but she has her moments of being the same weak and vulnerable girl we met in Air Awakens. I loved how realistic that is because NO ONE is truly strong at all times. But my girl is amazing and always picks herself up every time she falls down, and most of the times with the help of our dear Larel, fire sorcerer, mentor and best friend extraordinaire. I love her! Always. ♥♥♥
Friendship is one strong theme in Fire Falling. Vhalla is surrounded by great friends and I sincerely loved reading about them. Larel, Fritz, Daniel and Craig, thank you for protecting my friend and being there for her always! For being so understanding. Including Prince Baldair and Elecia, I learned to appreciate them both despite my distrust towards them.
If you read my previous review, then you already know that my favorite things about this series is the romance and Prince Aldrik. I swooned SO HARD in Fire Falling and I even think that Elise was extremely generous with certain moments and scenes.
“Do you think me naked under my armor?” – Aldrik
I loved to get more from Aldrik, to learn more about the good and the bad that makes him HIM. I loved his flyaway humor and those moments when he was the most vulnerable. My heart ached for him. He’s not the greatest person, he may be a jerk and cold, including a heartless soldier, but he’s a broken man with the weight of a whole empire on his shoulders. And how he cares for Vhalla, gosh, it’s so beautiful. Frightening even. But I love it. I LOVE HIM. I need him in my life!
But I’m an empty shell right now. I lived in a beautiful bliss in the last quarter of the book until all hell broke loose. It was shocking and heart-wrenching, yet I have to admit so damn exciting. My feels where all over the place and despite the late hour, I could’t hold it in.
And I can’t get over. Won’t get over it until I read Earth’s End. It’s been such a long time since I’ve been so messed up by a book. I even reached that point where I thought “I Hate Reading” because man does it hurt so bad.
*Le sigh* Fire Falling is fantastic, you guys. Leaving my hurt feelings aside,  I truly consider this book and the series one of the best around. The story keeps getting better and the world-building even more fantastic. I must once again implore you to pick up Air Awakens and start catching up with the series. You need it, you definitely need it in your life.

I even read it three times to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me hah…. I'm holding onto hope though. I'm sure Elise will make it up to us in EE 😀 (She better lollll).
