Ri’s Bookshelf
Hi everybody! I’m Ri from Hiver et Cafe and I’m so excited to be here on Melissa’s blog today to talk a bit about my bookshelf.
So on the point of organization, I don’t organize my books by colour nor alphabetically. I really just put them on my shelf in order of how much I like the book, their height and by series. I keep the series together regardless of if they match or not.
I have five shelves at my disposal and the second lowest shelf is left for books that I’m not that fond of and the highest shelf is used to put all my favourite books. I also try to keep all my hardcovers on one shelf and my paperbacks on another since it just kind of looks better. However, since my shelves are deep enough to put two rows of books, I put the books I will rarely look at in the back where I don’t see them. I have all the books that I intend on donating kept behind my favourite books at the top since I’m short and I can’t reach them that easily.
You may notice that I haven’t said anything about the lowest shelf yet. And that’s because I keep all my manga down there. There was a phase in my life where all I really read was manga. I have a good deal of the novels from different series and also a giant stack of manga magazines like Shonen Jump and Shoujo Beat.
You can see a little bit of what I’m talking about in this old photo of my bookshelf from last year.

I love how you organize your shelf! Mine is a messy sort of way but similar in the organizing by favorites. But seriously, five shelves? How awesome! I barely have two. Thanks so much for sharing this with us, Ri!
