The Week’s Entrée #27

Posted August 11, 2014 by Melissa in Uncategorized / 7 Comments

Happy start of the week everyone! I hope all is well in your lives and you’re getting enough books to keep you busy and happy. 😉

I’m pretty excited for this week because two great things are happening:
  • Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins releases this Thursday, August 14th!
  • Aaaaand, I turn 21 this Saturday!
You can probably guess what I’m getting for my birthday. 😉
by Stephanie Perkins

From the glittering streets of Manhattan to the moonlit rooftops of Paris, falling in love is easy for hopeless dreamer Isla and introspective artist Josh. But as they begin their senior year in France, Isla and Josh are quickly forced to confront the heartbreaking reality that happily-ever-afters aren’t always forever.

Their romantic journey is skillfully intertwined with those of beloved couples Anna and Étienne and Lola and Cricket, whose paths are destined to collide in a sweeping finale certain to please fans old and new.

In other news…

I wrote a new review over at Kate Tilton’s Blog!

Check out my thoughts about Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison. To sum it up for you: It’s over the top hilarious and a must read to get your mood up in the clouds. It’s a perfect read for all ages and I bet my birthday cake you’ll going to love it as well. Get some tissues ready to dry off all those laughter tears!

The book was adapted into a movie (Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging) and it’s pretty good too. You should watch it, it always cracks me up. Watch the trailer below and see for yourself!

Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

August 5th, 2014 / Atria Books
Genre: NA Contemporary

When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future.

They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.

Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.

Eeeep! <3  I used my Audible.com credit and went to buy this lovely in audiobook format. If I don’t purchase the book in paperback soon, I’ll start to listen to this one without a second more to waste. I soooo need to meet Miles.

  1. Okay, so I may very well be the only person on earth who is not overly excited about Ugly Love. I am just on the fence so I'm glad you scored a copy. I can't wait to see what you think. Maybe it will change my mind.

I love the cover of 6:59. I actually ran over to Amazon to check it out. I can't help it. I'm a book snob. It looks so interesting. Are you going to post a review for it.

Oh btw, Happy early birthday. Just in case I don't remember to say it 🙂

    • Thanks, Jazmen <3 I dig all of Colleen Hoover's books, can't help falling in love with her boys. 😉

I also thought 6:59's cover was eye catching, that's why I requested it for review, but I'll be posting it at Cuzinlogic.com . I'll let you know about it though. 😉
