Book Summary:

Sixteen-year-old Jansin Nordqvist is on the verge of graduating from the black ops factory known as the Academy. She’s smart and deadly, and knows three things with absolute certainty: 1. When the world flooded and civilization retreated deep underground, there was no one left on the surface.2. The only species to thrive there are the toads, a primate/amphibian hybrid with a serious mean streak.3. There’s no place on Earth where you can hide from the hypercanes, continent-sized storms that have raged for decades. Jansin has been lied to. On all counts.

     My rating: 5/5 stars!

This book is a BLAST people. It’s reeks of awesomeness even from miles away. I don’t even know where to start! From the hypercanes? The underground cities? The Toads? Agh, decisions, decisions. I remember I couldn’t stop reading it when I first picked it up. But I did have to force myself to stop back then because I had to read another book and it was PAINFUL. Some Fine Day got me hooked with it’s epic (and also chilling story), I promise you, this is a book to read well into the night!
Okay, so this book is about how hypercanes (really big storms) have taken residence on earth and have made impossible to live on the surface. Only the “best” humans were taken to live underground and have lived there ever since with top technology, thinking that there is no life left above. Jansin, a military student, goes on a privileged vacation “up” along with her family and ex-boyfriend, discovering for the first time what it feels like to breathe fresh air. But the vacation doesn’t go as planned as they get ambushed by surface survivors and gets kidnapped in the process, despite her best fighting efforts. She fears for her life because not only the hypercanes are a threat, but the toads are also out there and they stop at nothing until they kill you. Well, that is if the other people don’t kill her first.
Do you see what I mean? Awesome just doesn’t cover it.
I loved the transition Jansi makes in this book as she goes from living with everything at her disposal to having to fight  every day for her life. At first because she has to prove her worthiness to the group of survivors  and then because of the same problem everyone else has: running away from the storms, having enough food to eat, and the fearful toads. However, this strange new life turns into something extraordinary for her as she discovers the true beauty she will never ever get from the underground cities.
Oh boy, but then this huge thing happens ultimately because of her and everything just explodes. The action that takes place after this event is non-stop and absolutely thrilling! Jansin starts to kick butt left and right in search for the boy she falls in love with and the people that became her friends. You have to read the things she discovers about the underground society, it gave me the creeps!
Some Fine Day is a must read if you love dystopian settings and the kind of read that takes you on a wild ride. And I know this book was taken down (*sobs*) yet I think publishers should really take a look at Some Fine Day and give it a new home because if there is one book/series that has it all to be something massive, it’s this one.
