The Week’s Entrée

Yes, we had to name this post after something cooking-related. My sister is ecstatic about this but she’s still too shy to come into the blog and write posts herself, lol.
Anyway, on The Week’s Entrée we’ll be writing about what we have read, what we’ll probably read and what recipe we plan on doing this week on the blog. It’s sort of our menu if you will. We might throw in a few other stuff of ours as well, everything book related of course.
First, let me start off with what I read this past week! I read two incredible books that I instantly fell in love with and I hope to re-read soon:

Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison and The Distance Between Us y Kasie West. They are both contemporary
reads but so different from each other. Absolutely must reads I say. Time just flew when I read them.  I’ll post their reviews later this week I hope.

My review
of Roomies by Sara Zarr & Tara Altebrando is now live over at Cuzinlogic (yay!) so you are welcome to check it
out,  and while you are at it, why not check the other awesome posts from Catherine and the rest of the team? They are great. Lots of author interviews, book reviews, product reviews, giveaways and more!

Also,
tomorrow my sister Flor, a.k.a. the Chef of this blog, will be creating the recipe of
the Banana and Nutella Crêpe found in Anna and the French Kiss by the fabulous
Stephanie Perkins. I loved this book and the companion novel Lola and the Boy Next Door. These are very bright books and have the sweetest book boyfriends
you can find. Have you read them? They are on my list of top favorite books of
all times.

To Read This Week:
On another note, I don’t
really know which book(s) I’m reading this week. I feel like mythology, so
maybe I’ll be reading this one:

Elsker by ST Bende. It’s Norse mythology and I’m excited to find out what it’s really about. Here’s the book’s synopsis:

You don’t win the heart of an immortal assassin without making a few enemies along the way. Kristia Tostenson prefers Earl Grey to Grey Goose and book clubs to nightclubs, but when she transfers from her one-stoplight town to Cardiff University in Wales she falls in love with Ull Myhr. Her new boyfriend isn’t exactly what she was expecting. He’s an honest to goodness Norse God – an immortal assassin fated to die at Ragnarok, the battle destined to destroy Asgard and Earth. Kristia’s crazy visions are the only thing that can save their realms. Her orderly life just got very messy.

Sounds good, right?
The Chef will be reading Daynight by Megan Thomason and I’m so jealous because I want to read it soon too. I’m looking forward to hear what she thinks about it. Here’s the book’s synopsis:

18625293

Meet The Second Chance Institute (SCI): Earth’s benevolent non-profit by day, Thera’s totalitarian regime by night. Their motto: Because Everyone Deserves a Second Chance™. Reality: the SCI subjects Second Chancers to strict controls and politically motivated science experiments like Cleaving—forced lifetime union between two people who have sex. Punishment for disobeying SCI edicts? Immediate Exile or death.

Meet Kira Donovan. Fiercely loyal, overly optimistic, and ensnared by the promise of a full-ride college scholarship, Kira signs the SCI Recruit contract to escape memories of a tragedy that left her boyfriend and friends dead.

Meet Blake Sundry. Bitter about being raised in Exile and his mother’s death, Blake’s been trained to infiltrate and destroy the SCI. Current barrier to success? His Recruit partner—Miss Goody Two Shoes Kira Donovan.

Meet Ethan Darcton. Born with a defective heart and resulting inferiority complex, Ethan’s forced to do his SCI elite family’s bidding. Cleave-worthy Kira Donovan catches his eye, but the presiding powers give defect-free Blake Sundry first dibs.

Full of competing agendas, romantic entanglements, humor, twists and turns, Daynight is Megan Thomason’s debut young adult dystopian novel and first in the daynight series.

And next
week I’ll start writing mini reviews in Spanish of all the books I
review here on the blog. For my friends, for new potential Spanish readers, and those who understand the language. You’d
be surprised how many are dying to read these books.

I hope everybody has a happy week of reading!
